Jenny (Garro) Bender, age 41, passed away on May 21, 2023 at her home in Huron Township after a long fight with sarcoma cancer. She was the beloved wife of Douglas Bender Jr. and loving mother of Levi and Isaac. She is the daughter of Joseph Garro. She is also survived by her sisters Cheryl and Lisa. She was preceded in death by her mother Wendy Cain and her grandparents Samuel and Susan.

Jenny was a member of Kirby Free Will Baptist Church in Huron Township. She was a nurse by profession. Jenny was very proud of earning her nursing degree. She last worked as a nurse with the Downriver Guidance Center in Southgate, Michigan.

Jenny married Douglas Bender Jr. on September 16th, 2011 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Huron Township. They became engaged in Cancun, Mexico and honeymooned in Hawaii. The link to their wedding page is listed below. From the marriage they have 2 sons: Levi, born on October 16th, 2014, and Isaac, born on July 10th, 2017.

Funeral services were held at the Michigan Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25th, 2023. Jenny was laid to rest at the Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Huron Township.
